VENICE— On the subject of Barbershop and its new Abbot Kinney home within Local 1205, chef Walter el Nagar's creative Italian plates will be served through November. Do note though, there's no beer and wine here. Also, chef Ori Menashe of wildly popular Bestia downtown will guest chef on October 29. [EaterWire]

BRENTWOOD— So, actually, the new M Cafe on San Vicente is going to launch a day later, October 23. On offer here, M Cafe's signature line of sweet and savory macrobiotic fare made to order and via a refrigerated deli case (salads, sushi and such). Hours of operation to run 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with weekend brunch served until 3 p.m. [EaterWire]

SANTA MONICA— Ever since Morihiro Onodera sold Mori Sushi back in 2011, the chef has been crafting handmade ceramic plates and earthenware dishes for local restaurants. But he's returning to the kitchen on October 18 and 19 at La Botte, preparing a 10-course Japanese-Italian meal with chef Stefano De Lorenzo, priced at $125 a head before alcohol. The Michelin starred chefs will present: abalone, white truffle risotto, duck ravioli, mushroom gelato and more. Make a resy here. [EaterWire]
