B-Rod drops two stars on Hollywood newbie Acabar, noting the restaurant's stunning design matched by high prices, inconsistent service, spotty food, but quality cocktails: "Acabar, the new restaurant at the corner of Sunset and Stanley, just west of the heart of Hollywood, is a good example of a hot spot trying to do it right ...Yet it would be a little silly to expect a whole lot of substance from an enterprise like Acabar. The place is like a pseudo-Moroccan Disneyland for moneyed starlets, and as such it provides exactly what's needed from a ridiculous Hollywood restaurant: playfulness, good looks, great drinks and a menu that's as fun to explore as it is uneven."
