Josef Centeno's return to fine dining comes tonight in the form of Orsa & Winston, the Japanese-Italian restaurant that took over the old Rocket Pizza Lounge. Centeno's dominance of this block of Downtown's Old Bank District is complete with this minimal, clean space designed by Amaryllis Knight, though even until two nights ago a fresh coat of paint was going into the interior.

The menu is based on a set of tasting menus, everything from a 5-course meal for $60 to a massive unwritten "super" omakase that has enough courses to feed even the hungriest of patrons. The floor only has enough seats for 33 and 4 at the dining bar, though the configuration may be different after the most recent update. Early reports from the LA Times sound very positive. As of 2 p.m. today, there were still tables available for this evening, though most of them tended to be earlier, around 6:30 p.m.
