Tiki No, Thursday at 10:15 p.m.

Welcome to photo series Eater Scenes, where Eater photographer Elizabeth Daniels visits some of the city's great restaurants to capture them at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. Today, Tiki No.

Elizabeth Daniels 10/13
Most striking during evening hours, Tiki No is North Hollywood's staple Polynesian watering hole, clad with ubiquitous bamboo, thatched roof booths, and colorful tropical libations. Just recently, Jason Bran and Damian Windsor (The Roger Room, Warwick) stepped in as cocktail consultants, reworking the kitschy bar's umbrella-garnished drinks with fresh juices, better booze, and just a bit of fire. All the classics are still on the menu, like the Zombie and Pina Colada, in addition to a Tiki Appletini and Coconut Mojito. Last Thursday night the bar packed a mixed crowd of couples and friends, with patrons especially keen on the sharable $28 Scorpion Bowl.
