According to LA Weekly, Casey Lane and his partners closed down The Parish because an appealing offer came in for the building quicker than expected. As for an explanation, Lane gives the following: "At the end of the day, there's no story there. It made some money, it lost some money; we decided to move on." The Tasting Kitchen chef also acknowledged that, "the downtown market for his kind of cooking didn't quite rise to his expectations, and that closing The Parish was a mutual decision." [LAW]
