Ricardo Zarate's Blue Tavern Launching Next Month in SB

Here now, more intel on Blue Tavern, the California-Peruvian restaurant hitting State Street in Santa Barbara next month from Picca, Mo-Chica, Paiche chef Ricardo Zarate and business partner Stephane Bombet. The fourth restaurant for Chef Zarate Restaurant Group and the first outside of Los Angeles melds typical California fare reinterpreted through Zarate's Peruvian vision. So, that means pizza and grilled meats from a wood-burning oven like a prosciutto, goat cheese, and burrata pie topped with huacatay pesto and anticucho-marinated grilled rib eye plus a potato tarte tatin. There's also steamed mussels and chorizo with lime and aji amarillo butter, and a take on lomo saltado made with tagliatelle, beef, tomato-onion stew, and pecorino. It's a total Cali-Peruvian mashup. Deysi Alvarez of Mo-Chica will mix and muddle her take on classic cocktails from the Margarita to a Latin-flavored Old Fashioned.

Since Blue Tavern is attached to the Hotel Indigo, it will also offer room service daily from breakfast through dinner.
