Eater asked five bars around the city to create special, limited time only off-the-menu Eater drinks, available through Sunday for Eater's Cocktail Week. So far Kristina Howald at Bestia will serve you a Granita Applebum and Brian Butler at Salt Air is ready with a Crown of Thorns, Rahad Coulter-Stevenson at Thirsty Crow wants to warm you up with a Homecomin' Hottie, and now Tim Loden of Comme Ca will socially lubricate you with The Turnaround for $12.
Loden's inspiration for the libation comes from forgotten spirits, in this case pisco and Rhubarb liqueur. Here, Loden shakes together lemon, simple syrup, ORO pisco, Rhubarb liqueur, Cynar, and an egg white. He adds a large ice block, shakes again, and then strains the liquid into a rocks glass. Et voila.
