The former Craby Joe's, a dive frequented by the likes of Charles Bukowski, has been scrubbed clean and made fresh into Wendell, which opens officially tonight. Founded by Thomas Elliot (who goes by "T"), Stan O'Connell and James Campbell, the place was named after the late Wendell Green (Skybar, Sunset Marquis). Designed by Raveled Studio, the flooring and some dark wood has been retained from Craby Joe's, but otherwise expect a straightforward bar with canned beer, 14 beers on tap, and a cocktail list that is less mixology and more neighborhood watering hole.
