PLAYA DEL REY— Over right is Playa Provisions, the restaurant from chefs Brooke Williamson and husband Nick Roberts (The Tripel, Hudson House) taking over Tower 42. Per Instagram, King Beach snack bar will be one of the components within the eatery. Their target launch is early December. [EaterWire]
MID-CITY— Jon and Vinny over at Animal and Son of a Gun have a chat with Eater National and share a few updates on their new Fairfax project, which replaces the previous Damiano Mr. Pizza. They've hired architect/designer Jeff Guga (this is his first restaurant) and at earliest the eatery could open in late March. However, they haven't yet finalized the concept and are trying to decide how best to utilize the building's beer and wine license, which allows for the sale of alcohol to-go. [Eater National]
AROUND TOWN— On the subject of Chicago chef Graham Elliot and his foray into the LA dining scene, the chef tells The Daily Meal that LA is on hold for the moment: "In Los Angeles, there is great product, great people, I'm out there filming those first few months of the year, so we've talked to some people about it ... But with the weight loss surgery this summer and travel for MasterChef Junior, it's been pushed back on the back burner." Meanwhile, Vegas is in the works but specific deals have yet to be inked.
