Blanca/Roberta's Chef Carlo Mirarchi Cooking at Animal

Chefs Jon Shook and Vinny Dotolo are continuing their highly successful Cooking with Friends dinner series, which brings esteemed out-of-town chefs to Animal for a night of unique eats. Two cookbook dinners are on the horizon, one of which involves Michelin starred New York chef Carlo Mirarchi of Roberta's and Blanca in Williamsburg. For those unfamiliar, Blanca serves one of New York's most expensive tasting menus ($195), it's a prix fixe only restaurant with just 12 seats in front of a bar and open kitchen. Reservations happen to be sufficiently difficult since Blanca has just two nightly seatings from Wednesday to Saturday. Therefore, this is a worthwhile dinner on November 3 to fête the release of the Roberta's cookbook (diners will receive a copy). Carlo is going to prepare three dishes and team Animal will arrange another three for $125. Wine pairings are extra.

Also note, earlier, on October 27, Beard Award winning Oxford, Mississippi chef John Currence (City Grocery, Snackbar) will cook a four course Southern dinner using recipes from his upcoming cookbook, priced at $95 (a portion of the proceeds go to John's charity of choice). [EaterWire]
