Eater asked five bars around the city to create special, limited time only off-the-menu Eater drinks, available through Sunday for Eater's Cocktail Week. So far Kristina Howald at Bestia will serve you a Granita Applebum and Brian Butler at Salt Air is ready with a Crown of Thorns, Rahad Coulter-Stevenson at Thirsty Crow wants to warm you up with a Homecomin' Hottie, Tim Loden of Comme Ca will socially lubricate you with The Turnaround, and finally Tavis Chavez and JP Endoso over at FIG have whipped up Across the Room for $14.
Inspired by Endoso's favorite shot, which contains half mezcal and half Chartreuse, Chavez built a drink around the two ingredients. For Across the Room, Chavez stirs together Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Amaro Ramazzotti, Green Chartreuse, and two dashes or orange bitters. He strains the booze into a coupe glass, and then flames a lemon peel. Swing by FIG through Sunday to try this off-the-menu special.
