Boiling Crab Westwood Update; Tom Bergin's Relaunching

WESTWOOD— Here's a look at the future home of The Boiling Crab, formerly digs occupied by Westwood Brewing Company. Right now the space sits empty and while management isn't totally sure when The BC will open, they estimate the beginning of next year. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— Shuttered iconic Irish pub Tom Bergin's is fated to hopefully reopen on November 30, reports Daily Dish. New owner/actor Derek Schreck is keeping most of the ground floor aesthetic the same, though installing a new 14-tap beer system that will dispense a mix of Irish beers, hard cider, and local craft brews. Also, a new menu is in the works, though will likely not be complete until mid-December (a limited bill of fare to be served post launch). Upstairs, Schreck is adding Old Horse Shoe Lounge, a craft cocktail space serving seasonal drinks for about $12 plus a few beers as well. [Daily Dish]

SANTA MONICA— Just a friendly reminder that on November 10, chef Josiah Citrin is holding a fancypants Bocuse d'Or USA benefit dinner at Melisse. The seven-course meal costs $185/head (wine pairing is $90 or $150 extra), to be cooked by Citrin, Michael Cimarusti (Providence), Gavin Kaysen (Café Boulud - NY), Trey Foshee of (George's at the Cove - La Jolla), Michael Tusk (Quince - SF), and Traci Des Jardins (Jardiniere - SF).
