NYC's The Pink Tea Cup is Los Angeles-Bound

The Pink Tea Cup, once a legendary Soul Food joint in New York City's West Village, has bumped around town, eventually relocating to Brooklyn. And although it took three years to organize, owner Lawrence Page is finally ready for West Coast expansion. Come February, The Pink Tea Cup is fated to hit Sunset Boulevard across from the Andaz hotel in the small space previously occupied by Kassava Caribbean, which was supposed to become an Egyptian lounge called Ramses.

And just a quick tidbit on The Pink Tea Cup's backstory. Basically, it was a famous soul food spot in the Village, though it shuttered in 2009 after 55 years of business. Page bought the rights to The Pink Tea Cup name and relaunched the restaurant around the corner with some of the same recipes. Since then it's been a rocky road for the Tea Cup. But, perhaps LA will provide more stable ground. [EaterWire]
