Taking over the former Forbidden Bar in West Hollywood comes L'Scorpion West, a westerly restaurant and lounge from the folks behind Hollywood's L'Scorpion, which opened last week. Listed on the ABC license is manager Arturo Torres Fernandez, along with Maria Torres, though no word on the chef or kitchen operation. This also doesn't seem to be the same ownership that controled Paja Group, of the late La Cantina.
Back in WeHo, the dark and dangerous vibe of the eastside takes on a sexier, clubbier vibe with wood accents, open cabana seating, and a straightforward menu of popular bites like oysters, rock shrimp, brussels sprouts and Atlantic salmon crudo. A slightly better brunch menu boasts chicken & waffles, lobster crepes, and strong Bloody Marys, a requisite for any serious brunch in town. [Eaterwire]
