The Port of Los Angeles is already home to CRAFTED, one of the west coast's largest craft marketplaces, and now craft brewer Brouwerij West is looking to join in the fun with a 26,000 square foot brewery to open within Warehouse No 9. by August 2014. Basically, CRAFTED is expanding from Warehouse No. 10 to the WWII-era Warehouse No. 9, and that growth includes the inception of Brouwerij West (with a brewery, tasting room, and full-service restaurant plus patio dining area), in addition to an artisan foods marketplace and events space. Signage is up and construction should commence in Spring 2014.
Meanwhile, for those unfamiliar with Brouwerij West, it's a small batch craft beer group founded three years ago by brewer Brian Mercer. Beers are made in the Belgian style and Brouwerij West at CRAFTED marks the label's forthcoming permanent home. [EaterWire]
