Muddy Paw Coffee Now Buzzing Up Silver Lake

Silver Lake might just be the hotbed of all things coffee in L.A., where even a humble shop like Muddy Paw Coffee can operate, launched three weeks ago by Darren La Borie with the mission of serving coffee to the benefit of pets. This cafe is tucked away from the main drag of Sunset, and it's a little oasis for those looking to escape from the bustle of the city, offering a swell outdoor patio and WiFi for laptop warriors.

The coffee itself is more of a second-wave establishment, focusing on blends and roast profiles rather than origins, like newer roasters such as Handsome and Bar Nine Collective handle. And, the proceeds go toward local animal rescue, certainly a good reason to caffeinate. Open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. on Sunday. [Eaterwire]
