From STREET food to bar food, next up comes neighborhood-friendly Mud Hen Tavern, opening on December 7 in place of chef Susan Feniger's STREET in Hollywood. STREET executive chef and partner Kajsa Alger will execute an affordable "seasonal, gourmet pub and comfort food" bill of fare, says a release, "with the occasional global inflections." And while they plan to plate dishes like pumpkin ravioli to whisky maple-braised short ribs, the venue's focus is on a newly expanded bar lead by Morgan Fox (Upstairs II, Pourtal Wine Bar) and consultant Tricia Carr (Providence). Definitely local beers (draft and bottle) plus craft cocktails.
On the subject of STREET, Feinger says, "...it's still going to live on in lots of exciting ways, including new locations and a robust catering business." Mud Hen Tavern hours of operation will be Sunday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight, Friday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Saturday/Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
