It seems like the highest use for anything retail on Sawtelle is food, of course, and this tiny sliver that was once the home of the Crepe Nazi is now a sushi delivery place called Fugu. Named after the poisonous blowfish, this inexpensive take-out and delivery joint offers basic rolls for just under $6 and some more complicated sushi rolls like shrimp tempura or unagi avocado for about $9.

A few salads using farmers market ingredients (surprisingly) tossed with Japanese-style dressings and a small offering of nigiri or sashimi rounds out the menu. It's a slight departure from the conveyor belt or cheap by-the-plate offerings like Sushi Stop nearby, making it easier for grab-and-go eating. Hours of operation are Tuesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. [ELA]
