Changes at Nippon; Q&A with TipsForJesus

TOLUCA LAKE— Stalwart Japanese restaurant and sushi bar Nippon on Riverside Drive has transferred over to new ownership. Per an ABC license, Masayuki Niikura connected to Yuzuya Corporation is moving in with an untitled new eatery serving beer and wine. Likely sushi or Japanese cuisine. [EaterWire]

AROUND TOWN— Producers over at Relativity are casting for season two of Food Network's Guy's Grocery Games, hosted by Guy Fieri. This season they're only looking for professional chefs "who are supermarket savvy and have the ability to think out-of-the-box in the kitchen!" Full details here but the winner "could win up to $20,000!!!" [ELA]

AROUND TOWN—Promising complete anonymity, Eater National caught up with those behind TipsForJesus, the party responsible for mega tips left at bars and restaurants across the country, including The Hungry Cat and Fig & Olive last month. Of note, despite its name, TipsFor Jesus is not connected to a specific religion, there's no rules to tipping amounts, and these mega tips have been ongoing for the last 10 years.
