Slightly delayed past that originally projected late summer launch, Patrick Kirchen, a 20-year industry vet from Le Grand Orange and Nick + Stef's, is excited to share his Cali-American restaurant with the denizens of South Pasadena. Chef Lalo Sanchez, who spent the last 16 years at Parkway Grill, is firing a pretty classic bill of fare with a few seasonal plates mixed in. Sure there's steak, burgers, and grilled fish, but also persimmon and burrata, and a daily soup and salad. Danielle Keene, previously of the Pasadena sweets shop she helped open a year ago, Bittersweet Treats, is responsible for desserts.

Residing within Mission Street's historic Edwards & Faw building, Crossings encompasses two floors plus a patio all colored by celebrity home designer Tamara Kaye-Honey. Hours of operation run Sunday to Thursday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 5:30 to 10 p.m.
