The.h.wood.group Replaces Mezze with the nice guy

The h.wood.group (SHOREbar, Bootsy Bellows, Hooray Henry's) has snagged Michael Kassar and Micah Wexler's sadly shuttered Mezze on La Cienega right across from The Roger Room to try out a new Italian restaurant and bar called the nice guy. It's set to open this spring serving "gourmet pizzas, flat breads, salads and seasonal entrees," with an elevated cocktail program along the lines of SHOREbar. Further, h.wood is growing with a lounge version of WeHo club Bootsy Bellows in Aspen that will serve food. It's set to launch on December 20 and a third Bootsys is already in the works.

The h.wood.group is on a roll, most recently unleashing British charm on the people of West Hollywood in the name of Hooray Henry's. And it's not news that the hospitality group has been looking to expand with new projects. A year ago they almost took Lola's on Fairfax (which eventually went to Phil Howard of Laurel Hardware), and more recently Eater heard they were looking to redo the shuttered Jerry's Deli, which happens to be conveniently located next-door to Hooray Henry's on Beverly.
