1) Alhambra: When Sizzler in Alhambra closed earlier this year, the public mulled all over what would be the best fit for the large corner location. The answer: OO-Kook's third branch. Instead of expanding in the hyper crowded K-Town market, OO-Kook will be solidifying its position East of the 710 by opening a second SGV branch. In addition to the regular KBBQ menu, Alhambra's OO-Kook will be a soondubu house as well. After all, the Chinese population fiends for the spicy tofu pots. 2201 W. Commonwealth Ave.

2) Alhambra: Hot Red Bus is finally getting its alcohol license. A pint of Strongbow or Boddington would be lovely with those huge orders of fish and chips. 31 E. Main St.

3) MontereyPark: The recently opened Gomaichi has already completely revamped its menu. As of December, the restaurant, with origins in Hawaii, is now a ramen-ya focusing mostly on shoyu ramen and tan tan mien. Side dishes mostly center on chicken and there is still beer. 816 S. Atlantic Blvd.

4) Arcadia: Bun Bun Teahouse, seller of the popular Taiwanese burger modeled partially after MOS burgers, closed November 26. 651 W. Duarte Rd.
