Chianina Steakhouse, the new Long Beach eatery that will raise its own Chianina cows and bulls for restaurant consumption, is set to open doors on December 27. Chianina beef will hit menus in early 2014 and before that patrons can expect a variety of cuts from porterhouse to New York steaks plus sustainable seafood and veggie small plates by chef David Coleman (Michael's on Naples).
This is a venture from Michael Dene of Michael's Restaurant Group (the same guy who supposedly wants to bring Michael's Pizza to Beverly Hills), designed in part by Studio Unltd, with a color palette based on the shades of Chianina cattle. Refreshing the old Kelly's on Naples space, Chianina will serve Tuesday to Sunday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
