Just a heads up for those who work in food prep. The California Restaurant Association is making an adendum to the California Retail Food Code beginning January 1, 2014 that "will prohibit bare hand contact with ready-to-eat foods." Which means anyone who produces ready-to-eat foods will have to wear gloves or use utensils. This is part of the CRA's ongoing effort to prevent food borne illness and the new law is expected to roll out softly. [EaterWire]
