Earlier this month came news of Brand 158, a pizza-based concept helmed by Peter Roelant (L'Orangerie; Four Oaks). The Brand Blvd restaurant across from the Americana at Brand (and a stone's throw from the new Din Tai Fung) is now soft-serving a simple menu of pizzas, mezzes, pastas, and more all-over-the-map comfort dishes. Consider dishes like the shrimp and pea risotto, as well as the tri-tip sandwich. There's also a full bar with beer, wine, and liquor.

Oddly enough, according to early Yelpage, the place doesn't accept cash, credit card only, which seems to be an increasing trend these days. Current hours run 5-10 p.m. but starting December 20, all-day service will commence from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
