Jimmy John's in Pasadena; Rustic Canyon Fam Updates

New, 1 comment

PASADENA—Hey, Paul Tao, Merry Christmas. Los Angeles' first Jimmy John's upscale Subway-type sandwich franchise opened today on S. Lake Avenue in Pasadena. Expect the chain's tried and true sandwiches from clubs to subs. More SoCal locations to come. [EaterWire]

AROUND TOWN— Tucked into the most recent Rustic Canyon Restaurant Family newsletter are a few updates on owners Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan's next projects. Sweet Rose Creamery on Beverly should open in January and will enable Loeb/Nathan and partner Shiho Yoshikawa "to open a handful of new stores in neighborhoods throughout LA in the coming few years." Like the new Sweet Rose on Pico, the Beverly shop will sell Caffe Luxxe coffee drinks, and offer indoor and outdoor seats. It will be the largest Sweet Rose thus far.

Meanwhile, their 7th Street Santa Monica restaurant with The Spice Table chef Bryant Ng will launch this summer in the form of a to-be-named Southeast Asian bistro and full bar. Across the hall will be a wine shop/bar from Rustic Canyon staff member Kathryn Coker and her husband Tug. In addition to selling wine to go, one will also be able to stop in to dine on charcuterie, cheese, and other lighter snacks. [EaterWire]
