Lemongrass Opening a Third Outlet in Eagle Rock

Matthew Kang is the Lead Editor of Eater LA. He has covered dining, restaurants, food culture, and nightlife in Los Angeles since 2008. He's the host of K-Town, a YouTube series covering Korean food in America, and has been featured in Netflix's Street Food show.

Local stalwart Lemongrass, the casual Vietnamese restaurant that operates two spots on Colorado, is taking over a defunct restaurant at a tiny strip mall on the corner of Eagle Rock and York Blvd right next to Sicha Siam. The pho and banh mi purveyor has been running its original location since 2007, opening a second branch several doors down a few years later.

With this third outlet, it's a little bit closer to the Occidental College crowd, as well as all the new Highland Park and Mt. Washington homeowners up in the hills. The food scene in Highland Park/Eagle Rock is still a little dormant, with Sonny's Hideaway, Little Beast, Maximiliano and Ba as the standard bearers in the area. The opening date is uncertain, though a quick turnaround is likely due to the food-service ready space.
