The same team that brought you STREET, Susan Feniger and executive chef Kajsa Alger, has flipped the shuttered Hollywood restaurant into Mud Hen Tavern, poised to open on December 7 at 4 p.m. There's a new attention to drinks and a larger bar area organized by Morgan Fox (Upstairs II, Pourtal Wine Bar) plus consultant Tricia Carr (Providence), and their efforts have yielded drinks like Chili P, Yo (mezcal, passion fruit, chile powder, lime, agave) and Go Figure (fig-infused Maker's Mark Bourbon, Combier Fruits Rouge, five spice, lemon).
Alger's bill of fare is way more American this time around but still bears traces of international influence. One will find a cheeseburger, a fried chicken Cobb salad, pumpkin ravioli, and STREET's famed Kaya Toast is making a comeback. Hours of operation to run Sunday to Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight, Friday/Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., with weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning December 14.
