The Beverly Garland in North Hollywood is amidst a multi-million dollar redo and part of that makeover includes a new restaurant, The Front Yard, opening within the property next summer. Chef Warren Schwartz (Westside Tavern) will head the kitchen, but in the meantime he's previewing the eatery via a temporary dining engagement, Warren's Blackboard, in place of the hotel's signature restaurant, Tula's. Schwartz is presently serving a daily changing menu inspired by Los Angeles' cultural diversity, made with seasonal ingredients. Think Korean braised short rib with spiced pumpkin and spinach; pappardelle with lamb tomato ragu; and churros with dulce de leche ice cream.
