Barton G The Restaurant Hitting WeHo February 8

New, 1 comment

Barton G The Restaurant — a production from Miami event czar, Versace mansion hotelier and operator of his eponymously named Barton G restaurant group — is finally slated to open a Los Angeles branch on February 8. Reps for the restaurant say they expect to receive keys to the old Rose space in the next seven to 10 days and note that the lengthy delay has been in part due to permitting issues regarding plans to add an outdoor patio.

In Miami Barton G is known for its over- the-top playful food presentations and buzzy scene, though it's unclear how that vision will be received by Angelenos. As for the culinary offering, which will be overseen by executive chef Scott Linguist (former corporate chef for Be Our Guest and Vegas' Dos Caminos), expect lobster pop-tarts (served out of a toaster), a white-truffled lobster mac 'n' cheese (served in the lobster's shell), funnel cakes (served on a shoot-the-duck carnival game) and the like. Libations promise the ample use of liquid nitrogen and alcohol, and service will be coordinated by former Spago GM Horst Ringer.

While LA is Barton G's first priority, Eater also hears the brand is planning global expansion and considering locations from the United Arab Emirates to Vegas.
