Last March a gruesome blaze ripped through Snakepit Alehouse on Melrose, disabling future service until reparations were made. Good news. Management soft reopened the new and improved bar on Tuesday. The same bartenders are in place, as are tvs and a jukebox. A reader stopped by and notes, "They fixed it up nicely but retained a lot of the old tables, including one that's been burned on one corner. Nice reminder. It still feels like the Snake Pit- the beer is good, the staff is cool and the music is great too. I hope they get busy again soon!" [Eater Inbox]
