The signage over at Papaya King is coming down today and, effective February 1, the hot dog novelty, which SBE brought to LA from New York nearly two years ago, is shuttered. But, the reason behind this extinction is to make room for a larger Sayers Club, an sbe nightlife brand that has thrived since its inception. The small front area on Wilcox formerly inhabited PK is destined to become a new bar, part of Sayers Club, though likely with a separate name. The currently unnamed venue will serve both food and drink, with the menu supposedly formatted by both sbe chefs Danny Elmaleh and Michael Teich over at Cleo. Bites sold at the new bar will also be on offer to all guests at Sayers Club as a whole. Many details are still up in the air, but expect this new spot to open earlier, say 4 or 5 p.m., operating five days a week starting late March/early April. In other news, sources say that Sayers Club will also launch within the new SLS Hotel planned for Las Vegas. [EaterWire]
