MID-CITY— Umami has secured a deal with Irvine's Improv comedy club, and it's possible that the burger brand could also take over food and drink at Improv on Melrose. Souces say that Umami was in talks to open at LA's Improv, but the deal fell through. However, word just in that the partnership might actually work out. On the matter, Umami reps say, "Regarding the Improv partnership, Umami has an overall partnership with Levity Entertainment Group, which owns and operates the Improv comedy clubs across the country. Umami Irvine was the first restaurant officially announced as a part of that deal. Umami Restaurant Group and Levity are still continuing to develop the concepts for additional locations." Whether or not Umami is your jam, if the deal works out, at least food will improve from this. [EaterWire]

BEVERLY HILLS— Salady lunch place Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop is about to ... wait for it ... start serving juice. Apparently a new juice bar is opening within the cafe on Monday, though right off the bat the juices — priced at $5 or $5.95 — will come in single flavors of orange, carrot, and red grape, to name a few. Blends will launch two weeks later. [EaterWire]

MID-CITY— Of the moment newbie Sirena is now serving lunch daily starting at 11:30 a.m. Just like diner, the lunch menu offers a mix of pizza, pasta, and hearty plates fired in the restaurant's wood-fired oven. [EaterWire]
