La Casita Mexicana Grows, Assembly Donzo, More!

BELL— Bell's crown jewel, La Casita Mexicana, has expanded into neighbor Bertha's Beauty Salon. Now there's seating for 100 and owners/chefs Jamie Martin del Campo and Ramiro Arvizu plan to add a bar focused on wines from the Baja region. Grub Street says an expanded menu is in place, too. CULVER CITY— Despite a last ditch effort to bring on new investors, David Kuo writes in to say that he had to sell 9810 Washington Boulevard because he ran out of time to secure financing. Which means no Assembly. [EaterWire]

WEST HOLLYWOOD— Two Michelin star Italian chef Antonio Guida of Il Pellicano Hotel in Porto Ercole, Tuscany, is cooking at Sunset Tower Hotel's Tower Bar from March 8 to 14. This is his four course menu. [EaterWire]

AUSTIN— Thomas Elliott and Spoon Singh of The Venice Ale House are opening a second location, The Austin Ale House, at 301 West 6th Street in Austin, Texas. Venice chef Emilio Oliva will relocate home to Austin and serve as both GM and executive chef of the 4,000 square foot restaurant and bar. [Yo! Venice!]
