LA Spice is a catering company serving the denizens of Los Angeles for the past 25 years. However, as of tomorrow, those efforts are going brick and mortar in Culver City with LA Spice, a new breakfast, lunch, and early dinner cafe. Owner LeAnne Schwartz and chef Joachim Weritz are behind the operation, which will be managed by Chiara Issa-O'Connell. The clean, colorful eatery is preparing a compendium of dishes (page 1, page 2) which are supposed to reflect Los Angeles' melting pot of cuisines. For example there's a Greek kale salad, a star anise pork belly banh mi, and a winter caprese panini, plus sides of veggie chips and jalapeño corn bread. As of tomorrow, LA Spice will begin to serve Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. [ELA]
