1) Beverly Hills: Over on the ritzy side of town, Maria Di Salvio has opened a second location of her Charlie's Pantry, an Italian-inflected deli and cafe. Earlier this month, Charlie's Bel-Air started serving the same menu of salads, sandwiches and baked goods out of a cheery, light filled room on Beverly Glen. 2) West LA: The Buttercup LA, a bakery serving French macarons, and almost exclusively French macarons, has relocated from Sawtelle to The Olympic Collection on Olympic Boulevard. There are over a dozen different flavors, including salted caramel, earl grey tea, lemon-lime and taro. Status: Opened last week; 11301 Olympic Blvd.
3) Mid-City: See's Candies now has another permanent location inside The Grove, across from Barneys. The small shop sells the usual selection of chocolate covered caramels and nougats, potato candy and fudge. Status: Opened two weeks ago; 189 The Grove Dr. .
4) Maywood: Over in Maywood, Big Al's Halal Pizzeria started serving on the second of February, reports the LA Weekly. This is an Arabic-Spanish-English speaking operation that serves pizza with "Arabexican" elements like halal chorizo and skinless fresh sausage, otherwise known as kafta.
