Last fall Eater heard that Rao's, an infamous 100+ year-old mob haunt in New York's East Harlem, was headed to Hollywood. Just now reps for the restaurant confirm that the spaghetti and red sauce joint should debut late spring to early summer in the The Hollywood Canteen space on Seward. At this point a chef is still TBA, but whoever the Pellegrino family hires will be responsible for executing Rao's Southern Neapolitan family-style eats, in addition to some more contemporary Italian plates exclusive to this location. Unlike New York's 10 tables, LA will offer 95 seats and both indoor and outdoor dining. Dinner to be served six nights a week. More to come.
