1) Palms: The Sunflower Baking Company lived in this nondescript strip mall for a few years before selling the space to C & M, a new bakery and cafe named for the owners' kids' nicknames, Chicken and Monkey. The new bakery still sells Sunflower Baking Company's popular cookies and croissants, but has an expanded menu that includes breakfast, sandwiches and salads. Status: Opened last Sunday.
2) Brentwood: A new location of Japanese curry house Coco Ichibanya has just opened on Wilshire in place of a former Rubio's. Now serving lunch and dinner daily. Status: Opened last Wednesday. 12007 Wilshire Blvd.
3) Westchester/LAX: Another location of The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Company, also known as Larry King's favorite bagels, has opened near LAX. They are boiling and baking on site. Status: Opened last Friday. 8732 S. Sepulveda Blvd.
