1) Venice: Abbot Kinney is soon losing a pastry shop, reports Yo! Venice! On March 24, Jin Patisserie moves out of its longtime home on the corner of Abbot Kinney and Aragon Ct. Though this has been a long time coming, owner Kristy Choo confirms that a rent increase is forcing the business out. A new location is in the works. [Yo! Venice!]

2) Hollywood: It is somewhat more difficult to find a vegan meal in Hollywood now that California Vegan, on Sunset and Fuller, has closed. The space has been leased to a new tenant. [EaterWire]

3) Mid-City: Though we heard it was a temporary shutter, all signs now point to a permanent closure of 7015 Melrose Sushi & Sake. [EaterWire]

4) Venice: Sad, but true. Glencrest Bar-B-Que on Abbot Kinney, just steps from Jin Patisserie, is indeed calling it quits, confirms Yo! Venice! There was a glimmer of hope late last year, but the rent gods have won again. Last night, the shop held a farewell party for its longtime friends and fans. [Yo! Venice!]
