A Scandinavian restaurant called Gravlax is in the early planning stages at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Centinela in Culver City (here's a LoopNet listing). The 1,500 square foot restaurant, which aims to serve beer/wine, has yet to break ground and will require permitting and ample construction to transform retail space into a food and drink establishment.
LA isn't exactly rife with Scandinavian restaurants, although some might recall that Conny Andersson tried the Scando thing with AK Restaurant + Bar on Abbot Kinney. Unfortunately, that restaurant didn't work out and seven months later it shuttered and was eventually reborn as The Tasting Kitchen. [EaterWire]
