Former Alma chef de cuisine Derrick de Jesus is moving his MSG pop-up from the shuttered City Sip in Echo Park to Brick House in Venice on March 18. The chef plans to remain at Brick House Monday nights (6-10 p.m.) through the summer and a couple other Alma alums will join him in the kitchen: Chris Yamashiro and Nick Zepatos. So far their menu includes: Koji cultured butter and house bread, Korean-style pickle plate, crispy potato with seaweed and bonito, bincho grilled clams and miso, shio-style ramen, and benne flour cookies and cream.
