What is one of the biggest differences between New York and Los Angeles nightlife? Most bars and clubs in LA shut down by 2 a.m. whereas New York can serve until 4 a.m. However, LAist reports that California State Senator Mark Leno from the Bay Area is looking to pass a bill, SB 635, that would allow bars to serve alcohol until 4 a.m. So far the legislation is supported by the California Restaurant Association, Golden Gate Restaurant Association, California Music and Culture Association, and San Francisco Council of District Merchants and will go to policy committees in the Senate this spring.
