Mark Gold Sells Eva for New Project in Manhattan Beach

Chef Mark Gold writes in to confirm that after three and a half years of business on Beverly Boulevard, his seasonal New American restaurant will not reopen when he returns from vacation. There were bumps along the road, yes indeed, and Gold has decided to sell Eva and take on a new venture in Manhattan Beach. The word, from Gold:

I was offered a partnership in a new restaurant opening up in Manhattan Beach; an opportunity that I could not pass up. I'm sure you're aware of all of the issues we've had with this space/all of the conditions that have been placed on us etc, so we decided it was time to move on. Although we will miss eva, and find it to be a very special place with a certain warmth and charm, it was time to find something bigger.

Gold is waiting for escrow to close on the Manhattan Beach project before disclosing additional details. However, he plans to launch his next concept right away, next month. Meanwhile, those taking over Eva will begin their remodel asap.
