Renee's Courtyard Calls it a Night, Tinga SM En Route

By now it's no longer news that La Brea's popular Mexican cafe, Tinga, is moving into the longtime Renee's Courtyard Cafe quarters on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica. Word just in that Tinga owner and chef Jerry Baker will shutter Renee's effective 2 a.m. this coming Sunday, March 24 (basically after service on Saturday night). Then, Baker plus partner/trophy-house collector Michael LaFetra will reoutfit the space to reflect Tinga Santa Monica, serving mod Mexican cuisine and craft cocktails by Joel Black (Comme Ca). Tinga SM should commence service mid-April.
