In light of Marcona's one year anniversary, owner Collier Ulrich decided to give his quaint Melrose sandwich shop a minor facelift. After briefly shuttering this month, Marcona reopens today debuting a rejiggered space with bar stools up front and new furniture and art. Chef Andy Sonnefeld replaces opening chef Matthew Moss and this right here is his TEMP menu. Sonnefeld reworked some of Marcona's older sandwiches but also added his own creations and a permanent menu should roll out in a few weeks. Also new to Marcona is a coffee program using Equator beans, and down the road look for fried somethings like beignets, fried pickles, and shoestring fries. Stop by between noon and 4 p.m. this coming Friday where all sandwiches will cost $3.29.
