James Republic Hits Long Beach Later This Month

James Beard recognized chef Dean James Max — who has previously worked at Brentwood's Woodside and San Francisco's Brasserie Savoy — is dropping anchor in Long Beach's East Village Arts District with James Republic. Moving into a fully reconstucted space formally housing the Courtyard Marriott's loungey dive, James Republic will manifest as a modern American place with shipyard-inspired woodwork to connect to Long Beach's history as a naval hub. Expect communal seating at a 20 foot table down the center of the dining room and a daily evolving farm-to-table menu. James Republic is expected to set sail the last week of April.
