Since January, Local 1205 is under new management. Original owner Craig Weiss (The Otheroom) has partnered with former Craft LA chef de cuisine John Keenan and GM Tony Trincanello to transform the Abbot Kinney cafe and marketplace into more of a full service restaurant with added banquettes, communal seats and that previously planned oyster bar. On offer one will find oysters and clams from Blue Island Shellfish, plus crudo, Maine lobster and Gulf shrimp.
A revamped cafe menu is also in place, and soon chef Keenan plans to fire up his hand-crank charcoal grill. In other news, the Neighborhood Council recently approved Local 1205 for on and off site sales of beer and wine. Once that kicks in, expect food and drink served until 2 a.m. Right now hours run 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily with that street side window serving oysters, pizza, and sausage on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
