Din Tai Fung and Michael Mina's Bourbon Steak to Open in the Americana at Brand Mall

New, 36 comments

Big time news coming from Glendale this morning. Developer Rick Caruso announced today that Taiwanese icon Din Tai Fung is coming to the cushy confines of The Americana at Brand mall. Caruso also revealed that lauded chef Michael Mina will bring Bourbon Steak, a high end steakhouse with five other locations around the U.S., to the property as well. These two eateries alone make the five-year old shopping center relevant. Both DTF and Bourbon Steak are set to open on the corner of Colorado and Brand in formerly unoccupied frontage.

Din Tai Fung at Americana, which Caruso declared, "one of the greatest Chinese restaurants in the world," will serve a cadre of noodles, pot stickers, fried rice, soups, and truffle dumplings. At this point, the famous xiao long bao, or soup dumplings, will be served daily but their mini soup-dumplings will only be available on the weekends. Debut date for DTF is as early as September 15, with Bourbon Steak scheduled for an opening in early 2014.
