Cafe Vida Fills in the Defunct Assembly in Culver City

New, 9 comments

Though David Kuo's Assembly never got off the ground, the opportunistic Cafe Vida found a way to take over. Though reported last May that Vida was opening on Culver Blvd, ownership noticed a better building (plus a full liquor license) in the sadly never-completed restaurant. Right now construction workers are filling the interior while exterior landscaping gets a final touch. At least the effort to build out a prime restaurant space in Culver City didn't go completely to waste.

Cafe Vida, the budding healthy-gourmet chain, already has locations in Pacific Palisades and El Segundo, featuring Latin-influences dishes like grilled chicken jalapeno melts, breakfast burritos, burgers, and fresh-squeezed juices that are all the rage. No word yet on the opening date, though Vida's website does its best to ramp up the anticipation.
