Le Fooding knows how to party, in style. For its inaugural foray into the world of Los Angeles dining, Alexandre Cammas, founder of the French food guide, decided to bring attention to Le Fooding via a two day food, music, and art fête at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. Hometown heroes Nancy Silverton (Mozza), Ludo Lefebvre (Trois Mec), Roy Choi (Kogi), Josef Centeno (Bäco Mercat), Jordan Kahn (Red Medicine), Carolynn Spence (Château Marmont), and Lemonade, along with French chefs Jean-François Piège (Restaurant Jean-François Piège), Inaki Aizpitarte (Le Chateaubriand), Grégory Marchand (Frenchie), and Sven Chartier (Saturne) each prepared plates of deliciousness on offer Friday and Saturday nights to food and art obsessed revelers.
The nights were a bit chilly and those in VIP bundled up with blankets, but the glasses of Veuve helped ward off the cold. Of note: Kahn served a rather interesting sweet-savory hazelnut financier with shiitake mushrooms which diners plucked off tree branches, meanwhile Spence and Piège distributed drinkable pizza off a food truck. But the talk of town was chef Aizpitarte's simple yet soulful bowl of fresh beans in brown butter with herbs and lemon. The Goldster was a fan, too.
After the party there's the after party which took place Saturday night at mmhmmm (formerly Smoke & Mirrors) in The Standard. All in all a swell weekend and nice first round for Le Fooding in Los Angeles. Peruse the party pictures in our gallery above for more.
